7th–12th Grade Fitness & Health
This high-energy class is designed to help students build strength, endurance, confidence, and lifelong healthy habits—all in a safe, encouraging, and faith-based environment. While traditional health concepts will be woven in, the main focus of this semester is hands-on fitness training and practical wellness skills.
What Students Will Do:
• Learn proper form and technique for strength training, body-weight exercises, stretching, and mobility
• Participate in guided workouts designed to improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance, and overall physical fitness
• Track personal progress and set realistic fitness goals
• Explore how nutrition, hydration, sleep, and stress management impact physical performance
• Understand how to take care of their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20)
Topics & Skills Covered:
• Warm-ups, cool-downs, and injury prevention
• Functional movement training
• Core strength and stability
• Cardio circuits and interval training
• Strength workouts (bands, light weights, body-weight)
• Team challenges and partner exercises
• Basics of healthy eating and fueling the body
• Building confidence, discipline, and consistency
Class Goals:
• Encourage students to move with purpose and joy
• Teach them how to build a sustainable, healthy lifestyle
• Strengthen both body and character through hard work and teamwork
• Help students understand how physical fitness supports mental, emotional, and spiritual health
This class is active, fun, and designed to help students discover their God-given strength while developing the habits and discipline needed for lifelong wellness.
